Take in the glistening deep-blue colour of Lake Zell while you let your gaze wander across the snow-covered mountain summits; on the left you can look up to the formidable Großglockner and on the right to the famous Kitzsteinhorn glacier region and beyond. The charming mountain chalet has a rustic appearance with sun-darkened wood and creaking doors. The interior offers an unbeatable sense of cosiness.

The premises were recently renovated and modernised with a great love of detail. The fresh mountain air and high-quality wooden beds in the bedrooms guarantee a relaxing night’s sleep. The large bunk beds are particularly popular with both children and adults.

To ensure undisturbed holiday pleasure in the mountains, please note that access by car is only possible during arrival and departure (for transporting luggage). The rest of the time cars can be parked at the Gasthof Mitterberg (2 km away; €3.00/day). From summer 2023, guests will be brought to and from the hut by car by the landlord on arrival and departure. This helps to protect the flora and fauna of this beautiful landscape. In terms of sustainability and protecting grazing livestock, game and the woods, cyclists, mountain bikers and e-bikers are not permitted. Thank you for respecting these boundaries!

Rita and Karl have the best tips for your hiking holiday.
You should definitely plan time to tackle the summits of the Schwalbenwand, Schönwieskopf or the famous Hundstein. You’ll reach these gems of the region in two to three hours. The Schützingalm is just one hour away and offers regional delicacies, as does the Gasthof Mitterberg that is only 20 minutes away.

Your mountain chalet is located in the most exciting and laid-back ski region in the Salzburg area. Zell am See – Kaprun, Rauris, Gastein, Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, Hochkönig ski region and more. With so many slopes, you won’t have to tackle the same one more than once on your holiday.

Sit in the cosy lounge area and watch the large snowflakes quietly floating outside the window, put on your snowshoes and make your way through the deep snow or discover the extensive local touring ski network.
