Everyone knows the giants of the “coolest“ region in the Alps: Saalbach, Hinterglemm and Leogang - best friends in summer and winter and connected by the lift facilities which dominate the Pinzgau.
It was only a question of time, and mainly a question of connecting lift facilities, until Fieberbrunn joined the circle of giants.
For Almliesl guests, this means: 270 kilometres of pistes, 70 lift facilities, 60 ski huts, many snow parks, freeride parks, floodlit pistes, SkiMovie, speed and race tracks, fun cross and snow trails, cross-country ski tracks and much more is waiting for you here in winter.
In summer, you experience fun and action, but also relaxation on 400 km of hiking trails, 400 km of bike routes, trails and mountain railway transport and - not to forget - the absolute Bike Eldorado in the Leogang Bike Park. But what about enjoyment or culture, some might think. As Almliesl also cares about these important areas, we simply add the Pinzgau town of culture - Saalfelden - and boost this region’s holiday programme even more. Saalfelden Leogang, between rugged limestone giants - the Steinerne Meer and the Leogang Steinberg Mountains - and gentle grass hills, is naturally a hotspot for nature lovers, summit conquerors and climbing fans. Especially sports away from the pistes are recommended here in winter. A 150 km-long network of well-groomed cross-country ski tracks, a designated Nordic Park at and around the town’s famous Lake Ritzensee, an extensive programme of ski tours, snowshoe hiking tours and entertaining toboggan races are available here.
The town itself puts emphasis on creativity, innovation and modernity. The annual jazz festival beckons with world-famous jazz stars, and around 15.000 visitors come to the small and big stages, the streets and squares in the town centre.
Maishofen and Viehhofen as “suburbs“ of the large ski and sports resorts are very popular because they offer village life, tranquillity and nature. Especially families will realise that relaxation and enjoyment is waiting not far away from the hustle and bustle of the centres. For example, Maishofen, the place where the famous artist Anton Faistauer was born, offers a great choice of activities in summer and winter. Splashing around in Lake Zell, hiking tours starting at the doorstep, shopping in Zell am See or skiing in Zell am See Kaprun / Kitzsteinhorn, Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn or in the Hochkönig region in winter. One thing is for sure: The kids will love it.
