The four villages Kössen, Walchsee, Schwendt and Rettenschöss have merged to one of the most beautiful holiday regions - the Kaiserwinkl. A distinguished feature here are the many old farmhouses with splendid facade paintings.

An amazing hiking experience to more than 30 huts on around 200 km of top-signposted hiking trails is waiting here. From the Zahmer and Wilder Kaiser Mountain in the south to the Chiemgau Alps in the north, the possibilities seem endless. The picturesque Walchsee Lake is refreshing after a challenging hiking tour. Swimming, water skiing and pedalo rides, surfing, sailing or fishing - the lake awaits with many pleasures. Especially recommended are also the stunning cycle and bike tours on 180 well-signposted cycle tracks on which you can ride to all villages through a marvellous natural landscape. Experienced bikers can look forward to 125 km of crisp bike tours in the Kaiserwinkl region. Golf enthusiasts will love to tee off on the renowned golf courses.

Perfectly groomed ski pistes in the Hochkössen and Zahmer Kaiser ski resorts beckon in the colder season. If you prefer Nordic winter sports, then you have come to the right place. Several cross-country ski centres and a diverse cross-country ski track programme make this region a top cross-country ski destination. And away from the pistes? Here you can enjoy beautiful winter hiking tours, romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides or a funny toboggan ride.
