Caribbean flair & summit pleasure
At the base of the Hochschwab Mountains, in the middle of a nature reserve, is Lake Grüner See. It is an absolute gem of nature in the Upper Styrian region of Tragöß-St. Katharein. The beauty of this protected meltwater lake, often compared with the colours of the Caribbean Sea, is beyond compare, and the lake was voted the most beautiful place in Austria in 2014. Thus, what a privilege it is to be able to spend the most beautiful time of the year just a short drive away from this gift of nature.
Your comfortable, cosy holiday hut is part of the impressive mountain landscape. Situated in a completely secluded location, it is located directly on the edge of the forest, in the middle of the Hochschwab hiking area. Romantics seek seclusion here and enjoy the starry sky with a glass of red wine in the exclusive hot tub.
Our recommendation for hiking enthusiasts: Take the trail to the summit cross of the local mountain Floning
The summit experience is only an hour's walk away and rewards you with a fantastic panoramic view to the Seckau Alps, the Gesäuse and the Hochschwab. Children love the proximity to the forest, which invites to discovering, exploring and picking berries. The small wild strawberries and blueberries, rinsed properly, taste delicious as dessert after an extensive barbecue in the large garden.
Wood dominates in and around the hut
The rustic, sunburned façade offers an idea of the cosy interior. Through the terrace door you enter the spacious kitchen-living room with a wood burner typical for the region. The wood burner demonstrates excellent craftsmanship and impresses not only kitchen professionals, but also heats the entire hut. The solid wood furniture and beds ensure the best good night’s sleep, and you wake up in wonderful mountain air and with the magnificent mountain panorama every morning.

Well secured, across steep paths, ladders and bridges - the Bärenschütz Gorge is a real experience.
Ideal for families is the famous Erzberg, around 45 minutes away by car. An adventure mountain for all ages.
