To what extent have the Almliesl cottages, chalets, and vacation homes specialized in vacation themes?

If an alpine hut, chalet, or vacation apartment displays a symbol in the accommodation description, this vacation rental or the accommodation area is ideal for the respective vacation theme. However, there are no specific requirements that the accommodations must meet for the individual themes.

How can I determine which Almliesl accommodation suits my vacation theme?

Please pay attention to the symbols directly in the accommodation list "Cabins & Houses" or in the accommodation description. The symbols indicate which accommodations are geared towards your favorite vacation theme.

Family holiday with Almliesl

Is a children's bed and/or a high chair available for a holiday in the Alps with children?

Usually, something can be organized after consultation with the landlord.

Is my Almliesl vacation in the mountains cheaper if I bring my children along?

No. Our rental prices depend partly on the number of people, but not on the age of the children or guests.

Do children also have to pay the flat-rate service charge?

Yes. The flat-rate service charge applies per adult/child/infant per night.

From what age is the local tax mandatory?

The local tax is charged from the age of 14.

Do all children have to be specified when booking?

Yes, this information is essential for preparing a quote.

Can I overbook my vacation cabin with a child?

We ask for your understanding that overbookings are generally not permitted. We are happy to ask the owner for an exception if, for example, the overbooking is due to a baby or small child.

Are pillows, blankets, and duvet covers provided when I book a cot?

No. Experience has shown that parents prefer to bring their own bedding for their babies.

What additional costs are involved in a holiday at the Almliesl hut with a dog?

Most accommodation providers charge a fee per dog. This fee may vary depending on the accommodation. You can find this and further details in the relevant accommodation description under the section on additional costs payable on site.

How many dogs are allowed at Almliesl’s mountain hut?

This varies from hut to hut. Most allow 1–3 dogs. This information is listed under ‘Additional costs’. Please feel free to contact the Almliesl team. We’ll be happy to advise you on your ‘huts holiday with your dog’.

Can I bring more dogs than permitted in the advertisement as an exception?

No. The maximum number of pets is determined by the owner of your vacation rental. We ask that you respect this policy. If you wish, we can ask the owner for an exception before you complete your booking. Just let us know.

Is there a separate fee for my dog during my Almliesl cabin vacation?

Yes, the owner charges a dog fee per night. You will find the exact amount in the listing or in your booking documents.

Where can my dog stay in the Almliesl cabin?

We kindly request that you do not allow your four-legged friend to sleep in beds. You are welcome to check with your landlord to see if there are any additional house rules for dogs.

How should I behave when encountering grazing animals?

Can I let my dog run free?

No. Outside of fenced or enclosed properties and in public places, dogs must be kept on a leash in Austria. Please observe this rule in forests, when hiking, and in alpine pasture areas.

Are properties belonging to "Urlaub mit Hund" cabins automatically fenced in?

No, not all cabins for dog owners are fenced in. It is also important to note that the fences are primarily intended to keep grazing livestock away. Fences are never escape-proof for dogs.

Group holidays with Almliesl

Is it possible to accommodate additional guests in a caravan or motorhome in front of the house?

We would be happy to discuss this with the respective hut owner. Please let us know if necessary.

Can I overfill my Almliesl cabin with air mattresses or similar items?

No, we ask you to accept the maximum occupancy of each accommodation. The owners are renting out their cabins and houses, which are valuable private property, and should therefore be allowed to decide how many people can stay there at any one time.

Are parties allowed?

No, excessive parties and events are prohibited in all Almliesl accommodations.

Do I have to specify all guests when I make the booking?

No. You are welcome to let us know the exact number of people up to 1 month before arrival. If this results in an increase in the rental price, we will adjust your invoice in good time before the payment deadline for the remaining balance.

Will the rental price increase if I change the number of people after booking?

Yes, the rental price increases for some accommodations if more people arrive than originally planned. Especially for large houses, we work with sliding price scales so that we can offer the accommodation at attractive rates for smaller groups as well.

Is firewood available or included?

Yes, firewood is available. A small fee is charged for this in a few cabins – in this case, you will find information about this in our listing.

What special items do I need for a vacation in a rustic Almliesl cabin?

We recommend that you bring food boxes, a small first-aid kit, flashlights, binoculars, hiking maps, sturdy hiking boots, headgear, a backpack, hiking poles, and warm clothing and rain gear, even in summer. It can get cold quickly in the mountains!

How can I store food to best protect it from animals?

We recommend storing open food in plastic containers.

Where can I cool my food if there is no refrigerator?

The well trough or earth cellar are ideal for cooling fresh food.

Are there any tips for a cabin vacation without electricity?

Most Almliesl huts are easily supplied with electricity, which makes many things easier. However, if a cabin does not have a regular power supply, this will be stated in the description. These cabins are supplied with gas, a generator, or solar panels. By choosing a vacation cabin like this, you decide how close you want to be to nature. In this case, we recommend bringing a lighter, matches, candles, and a flashlight.

Are all Almliesl accommodations accessible by car?

No, not all of our huts are accessible by car. Occasionally, you can only reach a hut on foot, or with snowshoes or touring skis in winter. However, you will always find information on how to get there in our program descriptions.

Is there cell phone reception at every Almliesl hut?

Unfortunately, not every hut has good cell phone reception. However, you can find information about this at any time in the respective hut descriptions. In the mountains, the quality of the cell phone network can vary and depends heavily on the network provider. We are happy to check with the hut owner to be absolutely sure.

How do I find a cabin with a hot tub or sauna on Almliesl?

Can I hire a luxury mountain cabin with meals included?

Most of the luxury chalets at Almliesl are self-catering and offer you complete flexibility. However, some do offer additional services or have restaurants nearby – depending on the accommodation, you’ll find the relevant details directly in the description.

What level of comfort can I expect when I rent a luxury cabin from Almliesl?

Anyone looking to rent a luxury mountain cabin can look forward to high-quality facilities and exceptional comfort. These often include alpine huts with saunas or extras such as mountain cabins with hot tubs, modern kitchens and stylish living areas.

What makes a luxury mountain hut at Almliesl special?

A luxury mountain chalet at Almliesl combines a stunning location with high-quality facilities and exceptional comfort. At Almliesl, however, luxury can also mean the exceptionally fresh mountain air or the refreshing, clear water. It can also mean having access to electricity on the high alpine pasture. Is use of the sauna or hot tub included in the price?

Unfortunately, we cannot provide general information on this, as each landlord decides individually. However, you will always find information on this in the accommodation description or under "Information and additional costs."

Are sauna towels available on site?

Some accommodations provide sauna towels or offer them for hire for a fee. Please check with the accommodation provider. To be on the safe side, we recommend bringing your own sauna towels.

Is catering included in the price?

No, you can order food on site as you wish and pay directly there.

Do I need to book meals in advance?

No, meals are only available à la carte.

Am I alone in the cabin?

No. There are day visitors and possibly other overnight guests. The host and some of the staff also stay overnight at the hut.

Will strangers be accommodated in my dormitory if I do not meet the maximum number of persons?

No. When you book a sleeping camp, it is prepared exclusively for you and your companions. No other guests will be sleeping in the camp.

A lot can happen before your vacation. Protect yourself and book Hotel Cancellation Plus during the booking process. The price will be calculated automatically based on your entries. This travel insurance, specially designed for vacations in Austria, covers the costs incurred in the event of cancellation or curtailment of your trip, with no deductible and at special Almliesl rates. General questions about your holiday with Almliesl

When can Almliesl ski lodges and mountain huts be booked for Christmas or New Year’s Eve holidays?

Holidays over Christmas or New Year’s Eve are particularly popular. Almliesl often receives bookings as much as a year before arrival. However, Almliesl frequently still has the option of securing a free mountain hut for New Year’s Eve. The range of options is gradually expanding, but cancellations also mean it’s still possible to snap up a New Year’s Eve hut at short notice.

It turns out I can’t make it to the Almliesl accommodation I’ve booked after all. Can friends or relatives come in my place?

An Almliesl holiday can easily be transferred to friends or relatives. Please let the Almliesl team know so that the booking details (name, number of guests, children, etc.) can be updated correctly and the owner is also informed.

What sort of catering is available at the Almliesl huts and holiday homes?

All Almliesl accommodation is self-catering. These Almliesl huts and holiday homes offer a ‘bread roll service’. Accommodation in the ‘Your Bed on the Alpine Pasture’ category includes breakfast and may also offer other meals.

Are all Almliesl huts and chalets self-catering accommodation?

All Almliesl accommodation is offered on a self-catering basis. The ‘Your Bed on the Alm’ category – managed alpine huts offering overnight stays – features alpine huts and mountain huts that are run by staff and therefore offer various additional services on site for a fee (such as breakfast).

Does Almliesl provide suggestions for day trips or things to do in bad weather for my holiday in the mountains?

You’ll get the best tips from your local accommodation provider. They’re the locals in the area and always have great ideas or information to share.
Once you’ve paid the balance for your Almliesl holiday, you’ll receive a guest information link for your accommodation containing all the important details. You’ll also find exciting tips on the region and places to visit there.

Who can I contact if I have any concerns or problems during my stay at an Almliesl accommodation?

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the local landlord directly. They will be happy to offer advice and assistance and resolve any issues if necessary. The Almliesl team is also available to help during office hours (Mon–Fri, 08:00–17:00). For enquiries outside office hours, at weekends or on public holidays, we have set up an “emergency number” for our guests. Can I change my booked Almliesl accommodation?

Yes, up to 3 months before arrival, it is possible to make a change to your booking for a one-time fee of €45.00. This must be done in writing.

Can I book a Almliesl self-catering cabin for a weekend or just 1-2 nights?

In our self-catering accommodations, the minimum stay is 3, 5, or 7 nights, depending on the accommodation and season. Unfortunately, we cannot accept bookings for shorter stays in this accommodation category, as organizing, travel, heating and cleaning are too time-consuming for short stays. The managed cabins at Almliesl offer a great alternative. Here you can book "your bed in the Alps" for as little as one night.

How long is my Almliesl vacation offer valid?

Our offers are non-binding and the requested period may be booked by other guests at any time. You can book available accommodation online around the clock on our website.

How far in advance can I rent a Almliesl cabin?

We extend our rental agreements individually and in direct consultation with the cabin owners. As a rule, we accept bookings up to approximately one year in advance. Please understand that this is not always possible, as the extension depends on contract negotiations and feedback from the respective owner.

Does "self-catering accommodation" automatically mean that I will be completely alone in the house?

In most Almliesl accommodations, you will have the place to yourself. If there are additional residential units, apartments, or private rooms in an accommodation, you will find clear information about this in the accommodation description.

What does "unit" mean in Almliesl offers?

There are several vacation homes in the Almliesl program that include multiple apartments. We refer to the individual residential units as "units." This allows you to reserve a single apartment or, if necessary, the entire house (multiple units) for you and your loved ones.

Can I also confirm my Almliesl vacation offer by telephone?

Binding bookings must be made in writing.

Who do I pay the rental price for my Almliesl vacation accommodation to?

The rental price and service fee are paid directly to Almliesl Touristik GmbH. The additional costs listed in the offer and on the booking confirmation are in many cases collected directly by the owner on site. However, some vacation homes and apartments are also fully managed by Almliesl. In this case, the additional costs are also settled at the time of booking.

Can I cancel my mountain Almliesl vacation free of charge?

If you need to cancel your Almliesl vacation, you can do so free of charge up to 3 months before your planned arrival date. However, you will be charged a one-time processing fee for the expenses incurred. For cancellations made 3 months or less before arrival, cancellation fees + the service fee will be charged. See our terms and conditions for full cancellation details.

Please note: Upon completion of the booking, we offer our guests travel cancellation insurance at special rates. With this offer – even at a reduced price – we reserve the right to process cancellations strictly in accordance with our terms and conditions. Unfortunately, we cannot make any exceptions in the event of cancellation.

How much is the deposit for my Almliesl cabin vacation, and when is it due?

The deposit is 20% of the rental price and is due within 10 days of booking.

How much is the final payment for my Almliesl mountain vacation, and when is it due?

The remaining payment is 80% and must be paid no later than 1 month before the start of the trip.

Will I be reminded when the final payment for my Almliesl accommodation is due?

No, there is no reminder message. We kindly ask you to note the deadline in your calendar.

What payment options are available?

We accept payments by bank transfer or credit card.

What additional costs are due on site?

The additional costs, which in most cases must be paid on site, depend on the accommodation booked. You will find a detailed list for your accommodation under "Information and additional costs" during the booking process, in the offer, and in your confirmations.

What is the €29.00 service fee for?

Our service fee covers additional services that go beyond the normal booking process. Examples include comprehensive guest correspondence, including our guest information link, IT systems for booking and payment processes, and organization and availability in case of emergencies outside office hours.

Is it sufficient to inform Almliesl of my arrival time and order laundry sets from Almliesl?

After you have paid the balance, you will receive all the important information and contact details for the house or cabin owner via the guest information link. It is important that you call your landlord a few days before your arrival to discuss your approximate arrival time, details of key collection and (if necessary) ordering linen sets. For accommodations managed by Almliesl itself, please contact us directly. We look forward to your call!

Do I need to inform Almliesl if the number of guests changes after booking or during my stay?

Yes, absolutely! It's important for the landlord to know the exact number of people staying in the accommodation in order to calculate the additional costs and for the mandatory registration (local tax).

How will I receive the keys to my Almliesl accommodation?

The keys will be handed over either directly by the landlord or via a key box and code. We kindly ask you to contact the landlord in good time so that important details can be discussed in advance. You will find the contact details in the guest information link. You will receive it after we receive your final payment.

What is the initial provision in the Almliesl self-catering accommodations?

All our accommodations are equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, glasses, and cutlery. Some houses also have kitchen towels. Many cabins and houses offer additional amenities—however, this varies from property to property and can be requested from the owner. Each accommodation provides one roll of toilet paper and, depending on your booking, bed linen and towels (some for a fee). Food, spices, oil, coffee, etc., as well as cleaning products, must be brought with you.

When will I receive the landlord's contact details?

You will automatically receive the owner's contact details and the arrival address by email in our guest information in the interactive guest information link as soon as we have received the final payment.

What is the guest info link?

Once you have booked your vacation and we have received your final payment, you will receive an email from us with a link to your comprehensive guest information. Travel information, contact details, house rules, guest ABC, regional information—you will find all this and much more behind this link.

How should I leave my Almliesl vacation home when I depart?

Please leave your accommodation swept clean and separate the trash according to Austrian standards (paper, plastic & cans, glass, residual waste). If any damage has occurred, please report it to the owner. Please also clarify in advance with the owner where you can leave the door key upon departure.

Check-in – Check-out

Unless otherwise agreed with the owner or landlord, the standard check-in time is between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Check-out must be by 10:00 a.m.

If you are running late, please let the landlord know in good time. They will be waiting for you.

Please also respect the check-out time! If you wish to depart after 10:00 a.m., please check with the landlord to see if this is possible.

What is the deposit for and when will I get it back?

The landlord has the option of retaining a deposit. The amount will be stated in your booking documents. This serves as a reserve in case of any damage caused during your vacation. If everything is in order, the deposit will be refunded as quickly as possible after your departure – in cash or by bank transfer, depending on your landlord. If an accident happens and damage is caused, please inform the landlord immediately.

Can Almliesl also be reached outside opening hours in case of emergency?

Yes. Almliesl Touristik GmbH can be reached 7 days a week for emergencies on the mobile number +43 664 385 40 80.

The Almliesl cabin, vacation home, or apartment I booked does not correspond to the vacation services I booked. What should I do if I have a complaint?

The landlords and owners of Almliesl Hütten & Ferienhäuser always do their best to meet all the requirements and expectations of their guests. However, even in the most beautiful accommodation, a defect may occur or the promised holiday service may not be provided.

The Almliesl landlords are always there for you. Please contact them directly or the Almliesl team if you have any concerns. Together, we will do our best to resolve the situation directly and on site.

In any case, Almliesl and/or the owner MUST have the opportunity to remedy the specific defect on site within a reasonable period of time.

If a significant defect cannot be remedied on site during your stay, please contact us and send us an email at office@almliesl.com. It is best to describe the specific situation with photos.
