Dog vacations with heart and mind
Tip: The alpine pasture is not a petting zoo.

Dog owners know that once their faithful companions pick up a scent, they tend to ignore calls, whistles, and warnings. Discovering a stray dog roaming around in the woods can have serious consequences. Information on how to behave when encountering grazing animals can be found HERE.

FAQs: Renting a mountain hut with a dog
Can I bring more dogs than permitted in the advertisement as an exception?
No. The maximum number of pets is determined by the owner of your vacation rental. We ask that you respect this policy. If you wish, we can ask the owner for an exception before you complete your booking. Just let us know.
Is there a separate fee for my dog during my Almliesl cabin vacation?
Yes, the owner charges a dog fee per night. You will find the exact amount in the listing or in your booking documents.
Where can my dog stay in the Almliesl cabin?
We kindly request that you do not allow your four-legged friend to sleep in beds. You are welcome to check with your landlord to see if there are any additional house rules for dogs.
How should I behave when encountering grazing animals?
You can find tips on how to behave in the alpine pasture area in this brochure.
Can I let my dog run free?
No. Outside of fenced or enclosed properties and in public places, dogs must be kept on a leash in Austria. Please observe this rule in forests, when hiking, and in alpine pasture areas.
Are properties belonging to "Urlaub mit Hund" cabins automatically fenced in?
No, not all cabins for dog owners are fenced in. It is also important to note that the fences are primarily intended to keep grazing livestock away. Fences are never escape-proof for dogs.
