Arrival: no direct access with your own car. You can park your car for free at the car park of the cable cars in Werfenweng. The owner will take you, your companion(s), and your luggage the distance of 9 km to the hut free of charge. Each additional transfer costs Euro 50.00

Surrounded by the Werfenweng mountains, this charming hut fulfils all the expectations of nature lovers, mountain enthusiasts, and those seeking peace and quiet. Many family-friendly hikes, e.g. to the serviced Bergmülleralm or to the Moosalm, start here.
But this hut is also the ideal starting point for challenging tours into the high mountains, e.g. to the Eiskogel at 2,300 m. Please make sure that you are well equipped for these mountain tours, plan your ascent and descent carefully and inform someone about your day’s destination.
After an active day, returning to the quaint hut is simply wonderful!
Sit down, make yourself comfortable and enjoy the unique surroundings.
The living room with its wonderful seating areas is the heart of the hut. The wood-burning stove in the open kitchen, which can also be used for cooking, radiates cosy warmth on cold evenings. You fall onto the single and bunk beds with a deep sigh and immediately fall asleep, enjoying a good night’s rest.
The bells of the grazing cattle ring rhythmically, while the animals sniff curiously at the fence. The best time to heat up the barbecue and plan the next few days of your holiday is when the sun slowly sets behind the mountain massifs.
If the weather doesn't play along as hoped, then give your muscles a break in the new, private sauna. That's just perfect!
This holiday region manages to bring together all preferences and interests.
Culture, nature, enjoyment, and a large portion of "fun" are accessible from your doorstep, as well as after a short drive. Hikers and mountain bikers will soon reach the serviced huts such as the Mayrhofalm (approx. 1.8 km) or the Dr. Heinrich Hackel Hütte (approx. 3.8 km). The upper terminus of the Bischlingsbahn cable car is approx. 4 km from the hut. The cable car also takes you down to the valley and back up to the upper terminus in a way that is easy on your joints and calves.
Absolute highlights in the immediate vicinity are:
- Hohenwerfen Castle with bird of prey show
- The world-famous Eisriesenwelt
- The Liechtenstein Gorge in St. Johann im Pongau
You should also definitely plan a trip to the Mozart City of Salzburg. Stroll through the famous Getreidegasse or visit the Hohensalzburg Fortress.
