Self catering hut for up to 6 people at an altitude of 1.508 m
5 room hut, approximately 100 m², 2 floors, 3 bedrooms, lobby area with large sitting area, wood store and fireplace for barbeque, cosy living area with kitchenette and banquette seating, pantry/cool room, drinking water spring in front of the hut, limited mobile phone reception (there is a mobile phone in the neighbouring hut for emergencies)
Energy: Electricity for light and small electrical devices (maximum 1000 W!)
Heating: Enclosed wood-burning stove, Central heating with wood stove
Water: Central heating for warm water, spring water from own spring
Location: Outside Neukirchen, in the Obersulzbachtal Valley - Großvenediger, in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park
Altitude: 1508 Hm
Arrival: From the owner’s farm, approx. 4 km across a surfaced forest path to a secured car park (fee € 5.00 per day). You must leave your car there as the rest of the way is closed for traffic. It then takes another 5 km to the hut. The owner is happy to transport the luggage and holidaymakers to and from the hut on the day of arrival and departure.

The perfect domicile for nature lovers
This quaint alpine pasture is situated 1,508 m above sea level in the heart of the natural and car-free(!) Sulzbachtal Valley. Surrounded by the Hohe Tauern National Park and alpine pastures and located at the base of the Großvenediger, here you can enjoy pure nature.
The hut has been lovingly renovated but has not lost its originality and charm. One can imagine well how the alpine farmer used to make cheese and churn butter in the “cheese kitchen“. The old beams and floorboards could surely tell a few stories! Here you can forget the hectic of everyday life – mountain brook, waterfall and glacier are directly at the front door – who would miss mobile phone and TV here?! A drinking water well with icy cold water in front of the hut not only tightens the skin of the cheeks and reddens the nose, it is also perfect for keeping drinks cold. Hiking tours of all levels of difficulty and extensive mountain bike tours can be started directly from the hut – experienced hikers can even conquer a three thousand metres high mountain within a few hours!
Our tip: A waterfall with sunny plateau is directly opposite the hut – providing an amazing view. Here you can enjoy the sun and relax on wooden loungers; a visit to the serviced Berndlalm afterwards is an absolute must. Regional treats invite to enjoy culinary delights and to stay a while.
