Holiday in a Gastein farmhouse
Have you ever entered a 150-year old farmhouse and imagined how life must have been here in the past? The open kitchen with cosy seating area was always the heart of the house. Everyone gathered here for a good lunch and to forget work in the stable and on the field for a little while. The old farmers already knew about the so-called “work-life-balance“ and ribald humour was a constant companion.
The spirit of such feel-good atmosphere in a lively farmhouse can still be felt in this holiday home in Gastein. Situated in a central location at the village road and directly at the Gasteiner Ache stream, this holiday home can look back to a lively history as former farmyard. The parental home has been well looked after by the owners and has been gradually renovated.
Wood panels and furniture made from Swiss pine radiate a cosy atmosphere. Swiss pine is known for its health-promoting effects. The original old wood-fired stove is for cooking as well as for heating. The crackling of the wood on cold evenings relaxes and radiates a tranquil atmosphere.
With summits exceeding three thousand metres and even reaching the glacier zone of the Hohe Tauern, Bad Gastein is not only the Monte Carlo of the Alps but also a paradise for sports enthusiasts. The most southern destination in the Gasteinertal Valley is also home to the Stubnerkogel. The lower terminus of the Stubnerkogelbahn lift is only a stone’s throw away from the train station in Bad Gastein. Once arrived in 2,200 metres above sea level, an amazing view as well as many other attractions are waiting for you!
Thanks to the high-altitude location and natural snow, the Sportgastein ski resort still scores highly when spring slowly arrives in the valley. This is also the reason why this ski resort is one of the freeride hotspots in the Alps.
Note: Horses are kept in the stable next door during winter.
Tip: Offering relaxation and aqua fun on 30,000 m², the Alpentherme spa is located in the heart of Bad Hofgastein.
