Anyone who is making their way to the high mountains of Oberdrauburg has decided to leave everyday life in the valley behind. Stress is consciously put aside and a relaxing time out is sought, surrounded by the nature of the alpine landscape.

Approaching the small community of huts, you get the feeling of being part of an old sentimental film in an idyllic setting. However, the quaint alpine huts are by no means backdrops, but genuine witnesses to this region’s eventful history stretching over hundreds of years. Churches, historical buildings, and archaeological finds indicate that the Romans and Celts already stayed here. Today, the holiday resort in the west of Carinthia, on the border to East Tyrol, is known as a perfect starting point for excursions to the Lienz Dolomites and the Kreuzeck Group, and for the wonderful Drava Cycling Route.

Thus, the location of your quaint alpine hut, which is part of this cosy "group of huts", at 1,810 m in the Lienz Dolomites is just perfect. This high-alpine hut is special because the façade was built of solid stone. The hut has been integrated into the alpine landscape and looks like part of the mountain. It is pleasantly cool inside on hot days, and it is difficult for the heat to escape to the outside in the cold season.

Climbing pros and beginners meet at the Pirkner Gorge at the foot of the Hochstadel. The Rainbow Waterfall is the highlight that rewards you for your efforts. 

The barbecue area in the garden is the best place to enjoy the evening with your loved ones after an action-packed day. In good weather conditions with clear view, you enjoy impressive vistas of the Carnic and Gailtal Valley Alps in the south, the entire Upper Drava Valley in the east and the Kreuzeck Group in the north.

At the end of the day, you will enjoy a really good night’s sleep. A wonderful, restful sleep in the best mountain air and cosy wooden beds. This is "so real!".
