The Eisack Valley holiday region – between alpine charm and Dolce Vita

The three Eisack Valley towns Brixen, Sterling and Klausner have a long and lively history. Today, Brixen is the largest town and the urban centre of the Eisack Valley. The finely structured landscape beckons and is waiting to be explored. The landscape rises from the bottom of the valley at the Eisack River (480 m) uphill to the Rittner Horn (2.260 m). Quiet, quaint villages, where traditions are still part of life, nestle between vineyards, meadows and forests.

Brixen is also a paradise for mountain bikers. A wide range of tours from the leisurely tour at the Rosskopf near Sterzing and the trans-alp tour across the Pfitscher Pass to the border ridge tour at the Brenner awaits you here. The region of the alpine pastures, with its serviced huts and the South Tyrolean cuisine, is famous for tasty and traditional specialities. Anyone who believes that South Tyrol is not suitable for a winter holiday because of its Mediterranean climate in the warmer months, should think again.

The Eisack Valley boasts five very popular winter sports resorts: Ladurns-Gossensass, Ratschings-Jaufen, Rosskopf-Sterzing, Gitschberg-Jochtal and Plose-Brixen.

The snow-covered mountain world can be experienced even more intense far away from the colourful hustle and bustle on the pistes. Hiking quietly on the trails of the valley through the snow-covered landscape, enjoying the sight of ice crystals in the sunshine and breathing cold, fresh air - an experience for any nature lover.
