Skiing pleasure, hiking fun and summit and glacier bliss - this is holiday in the Schladming-Dachstein region. A wide-ranging summer and winter programme is waiting for you there where world champions ski.
Schladming - Dachstein, nestling between the magnificent rocks of the Dachstein and the Schladming Tauern. Schladming, Ramsau, Haus-Aich-Gössenberg, Gröbminger Land, Naturpark Sölktäler, Öblarn-Niederöblarn und Grimming-Donnersbachtalare all part of the Schladming-Dachstein holiday region. From snow-covered, white slopes to lush, green alpine pastures - the region offers stunning scenery for a unique holiday all year round. Known as a popular ski centre, the Schladming-Dachstein region turns into one of Austria’s most favourite hiking regions in summer. Whether alpine hiking tours or hiking across gentle hills, there are approx. 1.000 km of hiking trails to choose from. Even adventurous sportsmen and women can expect quite something. There are idyllic bike routes, racy uphill and downhill stages, leisurely cycle tours along the Enns Cycle Route or impressive vie ferrate. And for the brave at heart, there is white water rafting on mountain streams or paragliding with fantastic vistas.
The 11 ski mountains of the Schladming-Dachstein region make every winter sportsman and woman happy. The Schladming-Dachstein ski region is a member of Ski amadé, the largest network of ski resorts in Austria. 760 kilometres of pistes and 270 lift facilities are waiting for you. From one mountain to the other - the Schladming 4-mountain ski swing, with the ski mountains Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm, makes it possible without interruption. But the Dachstein Glacier and other smaller ski resorts also score with affordable skiing pleasure especially for families. Tobogganing, winter hiking, cross-country skiing pleasure in 2.700 metres above sea level or horse-drawn sleigh rides - winter fun away from the pistes also leaves nothing to be desired - and that day or night.
