The Pustertal Valley is one of the most popular valleys in the Alps. It stretches along the rivers Rienz and Drava and between Brixen in the west and Lienz in the east.

It comprises of an area of 2.071 km², and picturesque villages like Bruneck, Welsberg, Toblach, Innichen, Sillian, etc. are situated between 700 to 1.600 metres above sea level. This valley is characterised by impressive and pristine nature. The foothills of the main ridge of the Alps rise in the north, the Dolomites stretch across the area in the south.

The Kronplatz holiday region in South Tyrol - the most northern province of Italy - stretches from the west of the Pustertal Valley across the Ahrntal Valley into the Antholz Valley and the Gsieser Valley, and even into the Gadertal Valley in the south. Kronplatz is ideal for day tours and excursions in summer. From the Marmolata to the Vinschgau Alps in 2.275 metres above sea level, Kronplatz offers a fantastic panorama. Beautiful lakes are situated in this pristine alpine ecosystem. The most impressive is the Pragser Wildsee lake with fantastic rock walls dropping into the water. The Dolomites, the mountains of the UNESCO World Heritage natural site, always come to mind when you think of South Tyrol. In the Pustertal Valley, the most beautiful mountain ranges, like the Tre Cime di Lavaredo or the Sexten Dolomites as well as the Prags Dolomites, are at your fingertips. South Tyrol also offers quite something when it comes to winter sports. Not only the kilometres of pistes and lift facilities are appreciated here, the unbeatable culinary programme served in style and with charm is also famous.

Kronplatz is one of the largest ski resorts in the Alps. The train station in Percha even offers a direct connection to the lifts. Nowhere else will you get off the train and on your skis so comfortably. There are also the ski resorts of Speikboden in Sand in Taufers, Klausberg in the Ahrntal Valley, with South Tyrol’s longest toboggan runs totalling 5 km, and Gitschberg Jochtal. All of them guarantee unlimited winter fun. The Sextner Rotwand and the Helm ski resort in the Hochpustertal Valley are part of the Dolomiti Superski ski resort network near the Sexten Dolomites. Here is also one of South Tyrol’s longest pistes, boasting a total of 4.8 km in length. The most beautiful cross-country ski tracks can be found in the Gsieser Valley.
