Just imagine…
you are woken by the sun in the morning and the fragrance of meadows, forest and flowers beckons you to go outdoors. This dream could come true with this alpine hut, which is located in one of the most beautiful areas of the Salzburger Lungau – the Riedingtal Nature Park.
This holiday hut was built in 1972 and was used for alpine farming back then. The owners invested many working hours to renovate the hut. Carpentry, upholstery covers, various accessories - including the curtains - have all been made lovingly by hand. The mix of old wood and bright natural timber makes the character of this small hut so very special and radiates a real feel-good atmosphere. The doors are individual pieces; some are over one hundred years old. The wood-fired stove is for cooking and environment friendly solar power provides electricity for lights and small electric devices. Food and beverages will stay cool and fresh in the well. Some climbing skills are required though. The bedroom in the attic is reached via a ladder above the bunk bed in the kitchen/living room or via the wooden stairs in the anteroom. An adventure for children. A surprise for the curious. An experience for couples.
The Riedingtal Nature Park is a scenic jewel in the Lungau District. Here you find pristine nature and diverse fauna. Marmots, chamois, wood grouse or snow grouse are common here. The hut is the ideal starting point for hiking tours and more challenging tours, and serviced huts can also be reached easily.
Tip: It’s better to purchase a toll ticket for the entire stay (approx. Euro 25.00). The ticket also includes the valley bus service, which operates between Schliereralm and Königalm.
