Hut holidays in Hansel and Gretel style
The Lahneck hut stands alone in a sunny location surrounded by lush green meadows and fabulous woodland. Feel like a real explorer in the natural surroundings and enjoy the peace, fauna and flora to the full.
The hut was newly built in 2003, consciously taking care to use natural materials in its construction. The furnishings of the hut have been chosen with much love and attention to detail, and from the outside too, the Lahneck hut is a real gem that is hard to match.
Up at this altitude, electricity is a real luxury. Thanks to solar power, there is energy for light and the radio, whilst cooking is done on the wood-burning stove which also provides a source of cosy warmth in the rustic little “Stube” room.
The hut’s rustic ambience is further enhanced by its wood walls, furniture, and kitchen. Typical country features adorn the walls and the kitchen, reminding guests of the life of mountain farmers in times gone by.
The spring water trough in the garden and the pantry serve as a natural fridge.
The hut makes an ideal base for walks of all levels, whether leisurely family walks exploring the scenery, or actively conquering the surrounding mountain peaks.
Tip: A mountain tour to the “Steinsee” lake or the Gfereralm. There are family-friendly walks in the Riedingtal, certainly worth a visit with its many Alpine huts where you can stop off refreshment.
