Have you ever had the pleasure of catching a glimpse of real celebrities? Here at Almliesl, we’re not talking about movie stars, but real "rock stars". During your idyllic cabin holiday in the forest of Pinzgau, you have the privilege of having a panoramic view of the Krimml Waterfalls all to yourself. You are at the gateway to Hohe Tauern National Park and you can even hear these powerful waterfalls, which plunge over 380 meters across three tiers. They are the highest tiered waterfalls in the world and are only about 7 km away from the idyllic village. From here, many more highlights of the nature reserve can be discovered.

The Oberpinzgau region is known for its authenticity and originality. Tradition and a connection to nature are of utmost importance. At the foot of the Gerlos Pass and on the border to Tyrol, the action radius for hikers and mountain bikers is greatly expanded. But one step at a time:

Your rustic alpine hut is a small gem. With its region-typical wooden shingles, it boasts the first panoramic row – leg free. Because the view is so incredibly beautiful, the owner has glazed the generous outdoor seating area so you can enjoy nature at any time of day & in any weather.

If the distant sound of the waterfalls is not enough for you, you can enjoy the bubbling stream with a waterwheel, right next to the covered hot pot with alpine views. Dear parents, please keep an eye on the little ones to make sure no one tumbles into the water. Recommendation: 24h swimming float requirement :-) 

The living area of the hut is wonderfully cozy with:

• A small kitchen-living area (partially gas-operated appliances)
• A lovely seating area by the warming wood stove
• A spacious double bunk bed – ideal for families or friends

The owner, who once used the hut as a hunting lodge, is an avid mountaineer and has the best tips ready for you. Among them:
The family-friendly hike to Ronachgeier (2,236 m, approx. 60 minutes walk). You will be greeted with a unique view of the picturesque Durlaßboden reservoir and Königsleiten.

Next up could even be high mountain hikes and hut hikes with a factor of enjoyment in the program. How about a little border crossing into Tyrol? In a snap, you’re right in the middle of a hiking network that spans over 400 km from the Zillertal to the Pinzgau with the four tourism regions
