The unique Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park stretches between the Ahrn Valley, Lake Altholz and the famous Staller Saddle. It borders directly on the Hohe Tauern National Park in East Tyrol.

The sunburnt wooden façade with massive stone wall has withstood the multi-faceted alpine weather for over 220 years. Just below the forest line, you are invited to enjoy a summer close to nature, with countless hiking routes and mountain bike tours starting directly at the front door of the hut.

Sustainability is a top priority, not just because of the authenticity of your holiday hut, but also because of the nature-conscious attitude of the hut owners. The motto "back to the roots" is very much alive on the farm, which has been certified by Bioland, as well as in the owners’ alpine and mountain huts. If you want to experience this live, then it is best to visit the organic farm in person, it is only a 10-minute walk away. Get involved in real life on the farm. You are welcome in the barn and in the fields! Take a look over the shoulders of the owners during everyday farm life and give the cuddly farm animals plenty of tender loving care. The activities on the farm are pure adventures especially for children. The farm's own playground provides an extra portion of fun.  

The hut itself is powered by its own hydroelectric power plant, and is heated with an energy-conscious pellet heating system. On the way back to your alpine hut, which is waiting for you on the sunny mountainside, you should definitely get milk, eggs or breakfast rolls from the farm.

You can look forward to the following highlights of your mountain hut:

• The location on the sunny slope offers a great view of the valley surrounded by 32 three-thousand-metre-high peaks.
• Romantic bench in the sun and a furnished panoramic terrace with barbecue.
• Cosy living room with tiled stove and sleeping area above the tiled stove. Tossing a coin is the best way to decide who gets the coveted perch in the hut.
• Quaint wood burner in the kitchen for cooking and heating.
• The hut has been built barrier-free!

Because the owners have made sure that comfort is not neglected during their renovation work, this beautiful alpine hut only appears to be quaint. You don't have to go without comfort in the modern bathroom with its spacious, barrier-free shower area or in the fully equipped kitchen with glass-ceramic cooktop and espresso maker, for example. A lot of wood has been used for the cosy furnishings. The individual rooms are traversed by old, heavy wooden beams. Some of the floorboards have been renewed, while others have been complemented with tiled floors. The solid wood beds in the double rooms, which have been completely furnished with fragrant wood, guarantee a good night’s sleep.

Experience the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park with its wonderful alpine hikes to serviced huts, which are known for their delicious homemade alpine hut delicacies. Recommended are the Knuttenalm, the Kasseleralm or the Oberrieseralm. The Reiner High Route or a trip to the Klammlsee lake in Taufers should also be included in your holiday programme.
