Here, in the middle of the largest alliance of nature reserves in Central Europe, in the South Tyrolean village of Rein in Taufers, all your holiday wishes come true. Not only is the local mountain of the community (the 3,436 m high Hochgall) the highest mountain of the Rieserferner Group, but you are also surrounded by the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park. Counting no less than 38 three-thousand-metre-high peaks, it is the nature park with the most glaciers in South Tyrol, the Hohe Tauern National Park and the Zillertal Alps High Mountain Nature Park.

Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the protected landscapes

Enter your alpine hut, surrounded by vast herb meadows, fragrant flowers. The owners’ idyllic mountain farm is in your neighbourhood. It is worth noting that sustainability is particularly important here. Even the electricity is generated by the farm's own hydroelectric power plant, and the heating is provided by pellets. A bit away from the authentic village life, you can take part in farm life, help out or simply give the animals a bit of tender loving care.

It's only natural that you take full advantage of the diversity of your holiday region in summer. Hiking and mountain bike tours start right outside the hut’s front door. We recommend the family-friendly hikes to the serviced alpine pastures Knuttenalm, Kasselerhütte or Oberrieseralm - about 3 hours away from your hut. Already tried it? E-bikes allow you to increase your range and reach the peaks in a more relaxed way. That pays off in any case. E-bike hire available on request from the landlord.

In winter, you can enjoy the scenic beauty in a quiet and tranquil way

The cross-country ski track leads through the village centre, but snowshoeing (snowshoes can be rented at the farm) and ice climbing, for example, are also popular winter sports in the region. It's quite possible that alpine ptarmigans or snow hares will cross your path.
Skiers, on the other hand, will find two small ski lifts here. They are ideal for beginners or returning skiers. Otherwise, the Speikboden and Klausberg ski areas are only a stone's throw away.
