The Postalm in SalzburgerLand is an alpine pasture measuring 42 square kilometres and is situated on a high plateau, which seems to benefit from the location in summer as well as in winter. One gets the impression that the sun shines brighter, the grass is greener, the herbs are more aromatic here, and that the hosts on your serviced alpine hut are especially nice. Andrea and Johann pamper their guests on the Wiesleralm with much skill and dedication. Hearty good traditional fare and homemade pastries provide enough energy for hiking tours on the Postalm, for example along the Alpine Flower Trail.
Hiking holiday on the Postalm
The area is a designated nature preserve – at the northern edge, you can see as far as Lake Wolfgangsee and the Schafberg. The hiking region is perfect for families. The trail to the hut is suitable for pushchairs. Rabbits, goats and kittens are already waiting for some cuddles. The beautiful hiking destinations “Wieserhörndl“, “Thorhütte“ or the “little outlook“ can be easily accessed with little effort but with plenty of nature and an impressive landscape.
Hut delicacies and family fun
There is always something to do on an alpine pasture and farm life can be experienced at first hand at the adjacent barn. The cattle are milked and the farm-own products are made by hand every day. The hosts are looking forward to your visit and are happy to let you sample the milk. If you are interested, Andrea is happy to share one or the other secret recipe from the cookbook of the regional cuisine.
Your bed on an alpine pasture at this mountain hut, with old sunburnt timber beams, is just as you imagine. Countless flower arrangements blossom below the windows in summer and the small terrace area with tables and benches invites to stay a while. The bedrooms are furnished with high-quality solid-wood beds, some with dormitory character. The kids will love it!
The cosiness of the small quaint public room is hard to beat and invites to social get-togethers.
