That sounds like holiday fun for the whole family or for a group of friends. Of course, this does not mean that you can't spend the best time of the year in a small group in this spacious holiday home - you just would have a lot of space!
This former guesthouse in the picturesque Raurisertal Valley, in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park, has recently been fully renovated. A lot of local timber has been used, the rooms have been modernised and prepared for Almliesl guests. Now the bedrooms and lounges appear in alpine chic with high-quality parquet floors and artistic wall and ceiling panelling.
The holiday home’s absolute highlights are:
- the large tiled stove, which creates a cosy atmosphere.
- indoor "lookout" with small balcony.
- cosy living room with bar.
- spacious living area with glass front (conservatory) - view across the Raurisertal Valley
The spacious, furnished terrace is accessed from the conservatory
Of course, in summer you will spend your evenings here barbecuing after you have been following the tracks of the gold panners or watching the wildlife in the Rauris primeval forest during the day. Hikers and nature lovers experience pure nature here in the Raurisertal Valley on 295 km of marked hiking trails and alpine climbs. Bike tours and cycle tracks, for example, lead to the stunning head of the valley of Kolm Saigurn with views to the 3,000m high Sonnblick and Hocharn.
In winter you will find a paradise here
Among the locals, the Rauris ski resort, 2,175 m above sea level, is still an insider tip. Pros as well as beginners and advanced skiers can enjoy a network of 32.5 kilometres of the finest pistes. In addition to the pistes, there are also illuminated toboggan runs, idyllic snowshoe and touring ski experiences, around 30 km of cross-country ski tracks or romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides.
For even more kilometres of pistes, you can choose a different large ski resort in the immediate surroundings every day. No matter if you want to go to the Kitzsteinhorn glacier resort, Zell am See Kaprun, Saalbach Hinterglemm or the Gastein Valley – it takes around 30 km or a bit more to get to these world-famous ski resorts.
Tip: At the entrance to Rauris, in Taxenbach, you will find the historic Kitzloch Gorge. It is one of the most impressive gorges in our alpine region, and you should definitely include a visit in your holiday schedule.
