A unique insider tip with extraordinary character, this special hut used to accommodate pigs and piglets many years ago. Mentioned in 1770 for the first time, the building was handed to the now owners in a desolate condition. With its shingle-covered roof, thick stone walls and wood-panelled living room, the holiday home stands today proudly in front of the majestic mountain world of the Murtal Valley. It has weathered wind, storm, sun and snow for many years and gets more beautiful as time goes by.
Apart from the original wood-fired stove, old farmhouse furniture, creaking floorboards and quaint living room, you can also look forward to an outdoor sauna hut. The bedroom has been designed especially beautiful with a great amount of bright timber. And just like in the olden days – the beds are arranged one behind the other and the bedroom can only be accessed via an external staircase.
Very practical is the adjacent serviced “Sophie Hut“. Here you can enjoy local dishes because not everyone wants to cook on their holiday. Surrounded by forests and the chirping of the birds, here you can relax and escape everyday life. In front of the hut is a very cosy, partly covered seating area and a brick barbeque for relaxing evenings.
In summer, the hiking routes and bike tours start directly at the front door. The "Stolzalpe", the local mountain, offers quite something for explorers of all ages: long walks, fishing, hiking tours through lush green forests, crystal-clear mountain lakes and mountain peaks.
In winter, the village of Ranten offers an extensive network of cross-country ski tracks, an ice rink and ice curling lanes. The nearby Kreischberg ski resort is ideal for skiers. The Kreischberg has been known to everyone latest since the Freestyle and Snowboard World Championships in January 2015. The ski resort with 29 km of snow-reliable pistes is only 13 km away.
