Charming hunting lodge
Surrounded by mountain pine and pine trees, the hunting lodge is located in the heart of the Murtal holiday region near the village of Predlitz. The way to the 300-year old hut already gives the impression of a seemingly evergreen landscape. The hiking tours through forests and across alpine meadows or the mountain bike tours to the surrounding summits and lakes start directly at the front door. The hut was renovated and modernised around 20 years ago. The now comfortable hunting lodge is available to Almliesl guests who want to enjoy a mountain summer or the magical winter landscape to the full. The quaint wood-fired stove and the solid-wood bedrooms ensure relaxation after extensive nature experiences. The mountain world is just perfect for mushrooms pickers. Looking for chanterelles, penny buns and wild berries lets every mushroom and berry picker’s heart beat faster. And the result will be enough for a wonderful evening meal or a tasty dessert.
The owner of the hut has the following tips for Almliesl guests:
“Hiking tours to the Tschaudinock 2.200 m and the Eisenhut 2.440 m should be a must on the holiday agenda. Family-friendly hiking tours like to the Rotofen 2.000 m, the Vorderhütteneck 2.204 m or the Kilnprein in 2.408 m above sea level start directly at the doorstep of your holiday home.“
Worth a visit is the Weigerhütte hut, which is approx. 3 km away. There you can buy fresh milk for your morning coffee. The fenced property offers plenty of space for children who like to splash around at the well, which is also used to keep beverages cold. We recommend bringing a cooling box for delicate foods. Count shooting stars and make plans for the hiking tour the next day while enjoying a glass of wine and sausages from the grill in the evening.
Tip: The Murau Timber Museum conveys interesting facts about forests and trees. The area of 10.000 m² offers plenty of space for exploring and experiencing and includes a journey through time, a timber & water playground and constantly changing exhibitions.
