Surrounded by the Nockberg Mountains and in a secluded location, this holiday hut stands proudly here and is waiting for your visit.
The hut was built in 1973. The owners turned it into a holiday hut after careful renovation a few years later. The character and architecture have been preserved deliberately, especially the historic appearance of the old exterior facade. Wood-panelled walls, thick masonry and tiles in all colours radiate a special ambience. The walls are decorated with many accessories and pictures, some family-owned antiques bring a unique charm to the hut. No room is like the other. Solar power generates electricity for light and small electrical devices. Food is stored in the cool pantry. Sitting at the dining table, you enjoy the view to the mountain panorama of the Rosatinalpe-Vorderhüttereck-Kilnprein to the right or to the Hrodofen to the left. Or you just sit and listen to the crackling of the tiled stove in the cosy, warm living room.
This area is an Eldorado for wild mushroom and berry pickers. Many hiking tours, circular hiking routes or more challenging tours start directly at the hut’s doorstep. A visit to Finstergrün Castle, an excursion to the Turracher Höhe or the lake hiking tour to Lake Grünsee, Lake Schwarzsee and Lake Turrach are always rewarding.
Tip: A drive on the famous Nockalm Road via Schönfeld into Thomatal. Or, boarding in Maurau or Tansweg, take a ride on the Murtalbahn nostalgic train.
