The fountain with sparkling cold spring water not only provides refreshment, but also cool drinks. The expansive view from the balcony promises panoramic cinema. 
Due to its hillside location, the old hut also has a basement where the stables are located today, as they were back then. In the summer months, the owners' cattle enjoy their holidays here and graze happily around the hut.

Your active summer in the Hohe Tauern National Park

Mittersill, in the centre of the Hohe Tauern National Park, is the ideal starting point for your outdoor activities. The lively town boasts beautiful markets and a variety of events, both modern and typical of the region. 

Be sure to plan your time out in nature at the Wasenmoos high moor: at an altitude of between 1,200 and 1,500 metres above Mittersill, the high moor is home to an impressive variety of animal and plant species.
The hikes to Hintersee or Elisabethsee are also a must. Passing the serviced huts Meilinger Hütte or Gamsblickhütte, they are true natural beauties and provide some refreshment.

Your winter finally different

This is a real Almliesl hut holiday in winter! The way to the hut is a path in the snow, about 700 metres from the owners' farm. Choose between snowshoes, touring skis or sturdy hiking boots to trudge through the snow to the hut. The landlords will be happy to help you with your luggage. Head down with a sledge - that's "a real rush!".

Of course, the most beautiful ski areas in the region are close by.
The Kitzbühel - Kirchberg - Mittersill ski area is just 7 kilometres away. The starting point is the Panoramabahn Kitzbüheler Alpen with the famous Resterhöhe. 
Make the most of the alternatives for winter sports. Explore your immediate surroundings on touring skis or on the cross-country ski trail. The Hochmoorloipe trail at Pass Thurn, for example, is not only recommended because of the guaranteed snow. On the high plateau next to the panoramic cable car, it leads through the incomparably beautiful, nature-protected landscape.
