This rustic mountain chalet is in a sunny location in the Maria Alm hiking region, surrounded by gentle woods and rolling meadows and framed against the powerful backdrop of the Hochkönig.
The chalet was lovingly restored by the owners in 2014 and many of the original elements were retained. Centuries old history was captured without sacrificing modern comforts in any way. Many typical accessories such as the original wooden stove with its giant cheese pan or the dark wooden beams serve as reminders of the life of mountain farmers in days gone by.
The furnishings contain facets of both the rustic chalet character and modern elements. From the tiled floor, cosy wooden parlour, wall paintings, fashionable kitchen with rustic seating area, new bathroom and romantic mansard bedrooms through to the party cellar with a bar area. The wooden stove on the mountain pasture is used for cooking. When it gets colder outside, simply heat up the wooden stove or tiled stove in the cosy parlour area and curl up with your loved ones on the bench.
The terrace with barbecue area promises cosy evenings with breath-taking views of the Steinernes Meer. A small spring babbles outside the chalet, which is not only used by children for splashing around but also acts as a fridge for storing food. The cellar can also be used for cooling in the colder months. The neighbouring stables offer a practical place for storing skis, tyres etc. The wide range of hikes starting from right outside the front door inspire visitors to discover the local flora and fauna.
Tip: Hike to the Christernreith chalet or family-friendly hike to enjoy some food at the Hinterjetzbach chalet.
