What this means is easily explained. Seeing this dream of a hut, the reaction of the ladies of the Almliesl team was like this:

This are rural expressions of absolute delight. The Almliesl ladies are happy to explain the individual meanings when you call ;).

So charming and romantic as this quaint hut from the beginning of the 19th century appears today, so important was it once as alpine dairy hut for milk processing. Life up here without electricity and running water could be very hard. The old wood-fired stove still heats the entire hut now, just as it did back then. The stove is used for cooking and the necessary water is fetched from the well basin, just like the old farmers used to do.
The freezing cold spring water of drinking water quality is used for cooling beverages as well as airtight sealed food.

Here you will learn that not much is needed for living

Spending a holiday here, with your own terrace and a fantastic vista to the Liesertal Valley, is your chance to escape everyday life. Without internet, TV and any other technical bits and pieces, here you experience nature like nowhere else. Here you are just being you!

The interior is very cosy; modern standards or even luxury are not needed up here. The living room is the heart of this small wooden hut. And if you have yet not felt like snuggling down, then you will surely be tempted to do so now. Using a narrow staircase, you get beneath the roof and to the solid-wood single beds – here you will definitely sleep like a log.

An absolute highlight is the outdoor bathroom:

• open-air solar shower,
• earth closet and the
• well basin as sink.

Here you wake up like nowhere else. Here you can just be YOU because only the cows, rabbits and deer will watch you.

Your summer on an alpine pasture at the gate to the Nock Mountains Biosphere Park

Slowing down between soft alpine meadows and crystal-clear mountain lakes is on the agenda in the north of Carinthia, not far away from the borders to Styria or to Salzburg.

The communities in the biosphere park have come out in favour of the sustainable interaction between tourism and nature, hence protecting flora and fauna, climate and origin takes centre stage.

Your summer holiday here means back to the roots, taking care of yourself and your neighbour.

A winter holiday for tough cookies

It is very quiet and tranquil up here in the cold season. Long winter hiking tours, ski touring or watching wildlife, nosily coming very close to the fence of the hut, guarantee real winter feeling.

Are you a real winter mountain fan? Then it will be easy for you living without running water and outdoor solar shower. Because of this the hut can also be booked just for the weekend (minimum 3 nights).
In this case, we recommend taking a supply of water to the hut.

Tip: Starting from the hut, you can enjoy an easy hiking tour to the Speiereck (approx. 1.5h) – including summit cross experience.
