Hut romance
This mountain chalet was originally used by hunters as a hunting lodge (built in 1958) and was renovated in 2002. It is located in the idyllic mountain village of Jochberg, not far from Kitzbühel.
The holiday chalet is in a secluded location on the edge of the Saukaser Valley. The cosy living room with a typical stonewalled oven and the five-bed room are ideal for families or good friends. The chalet has no electricity, light or fridge and the oven is gas-operated. Evenings under a starry sky by the walled barbecue are particularly romantic.
The mountain bike route next to the chalet takes cyclists to the higher pasture region of the Pengelstein. We recommend a hike into the Saukaser valley, the Pengelstein and the Kleiner Rettenstein. There are many chalets and pastures in this region that offer food and you should definitely try the home-made products.
In winter, the approach to the chalet is also the ski descent (connecting trail). In good snow conditions, you can strap on your skis outside the front door of the chalet and descend on the forest path into the valley; you can then continue to the valley station with the ski bus. In the evening, you can swing back to the chalet.
