In the valley of the alpine pastures
Far away from through traffic and noise, this newly built chalet is situated at the owners’ farm. The holiday domicile is idyllically located on a hill at the end of the Grossarl Landesstraße (state road). Thus, the National Park municipality of Hüttschlag is the head of the Grossarltal Valley.
The chalet is very modern and leaves nothing to be desired. Plenty of wood has been used to emphasis its natural appearance. The entire holiday domicile presents itself with high-quality materials in a style typical for the region. The chalet is bright, friendly and very cosy. The open space living room with a high-quality kitchen, large dining table and a spacious seating area is the heart of the house and invites to cosy get-togethers.
Better entertainment than any concert offers the ringing of the cows‘ bells on the lush meadows around the farm. Whether the farm dog or the animals on the pasture - all of them enjoy some cuddles from the guests. The owners‘ children are already waiting for new friends to explore the farm with and a playground invites to play together.
If you look for rustic diversity in dizzy heights in summer, then you can spend a night on the farm-own serviced ”Modereggalm“ on request. In addition, there are over 400 km of signposted hiking trails and around 40 serviced huts in the Grossarltal Valley - the valley of the alpine pastures.
In winter, a free ski bus service connects Hüttschlag with the Grossarltal Valley-Dorfgastein ski swing. Hüttschlag at the gates to the Hohe Tauern National Park is a little paradise especially for cross-country skiers, winter hikers and ski tourers. A horse-drawn sleigh ride through a magical snow-covered landscape ensures pure romantic moments.
Our tip: The Valley Museum with several buildings is situated at the head of the valley of Hüttschlag. The “Gensbichlhaus”, an old farmhouse, exhibits folkloristic and natural history objects. There is also a smokehouse, an old smithy, a schnapps distillery, a hunter’s lodge with constantly changing exhibitions, a Hubertus Chapel, a mill and a former stable with exhibition rooms and “ALMKINO” cinema.
