Country life in the Hohe Tauern National Park
Ideal for families and groups of friends who would like to get a bit closer to life in the countryside. With the best view across the Hollersbach Valley in direction Krimml, with the famous Krimml Waterfalls, or in direction Mittersill, with its ski resort and hiking region reaching to the Kitzbühel Alps in Tyrol.
The entire first floor of the farmhouse offers plenty of space for a holiday with up to 10 persons. The owners live on the ground floor. But additional rooms can be booked on the 2nd floor. The rooms are furnished in a rustic, cosy style typical for this region in the 80s. Wooden floors and wooden furniture dominate the house. The farmers are always happy to share the best tips for hiking tours with their guests. Good to know because there might also be a tip about the best places to find wild mushrooms (chanterelles).
The Hohe Tauern National Park offers experiences which will be hard to fit into one holiday. A visit to the Hollersbach Herb Garden is an absolute must. Snacking berries in the Berry Labyrinth and exploring mountain herbs in the rock garden – an adventure for all the senses and an experience for the entire family. Over 500 different plant species and plant varieties are waiting in the Hollersbach Herb Garden.
In winter, the location of the farmhouse is ideal for fans of alternative winter sports. Winter and snowshoe hikers, ski tourers and cross-country skiers will find here what their heart desires. An absolute highlight is the Hochmoor Cross-Country Ski Track: situated on a sun plateau in 1,200 m above sea level, this snow-reliable cross-country ski track offers a fantastic view to the snow-covered peaks of the three thousand metres high mountains of the Hohe Tauern National Park.
Tip: The panorama mountain railway of the Kitzbühel Alps takes guests to one of the largest ski resorts and hiking regions - Kitzbühel-Hollersbach-Mittersill – in summer and winter!
