This alpine hut in Embach, Salzburg’s largest Farming Village, is surrounded by the stunning Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region.

This hut is around 50 years old and used to be a hunting lodge. Renovation work has now been completed and the hut welcomes Almliesl guests in new splendour:

Your mountain summer at this romantic hut

Having been woken by the chirping of the birds or the whistling of the marmots, we recommend enjoying the first sunshine on the “sun bench” on the veranda. The view stretches to the Anthaupten, the Bärnkogel, with quite a challenging ascent, and the Kögerl – an ideal family hiking tour lasting around 1.5 hours.
Don’t forget your binoculars. With the interesting and entertaining lives of your direct neighbours – marmots, stags and deer, you don’t need any TV or internet.
Picking wild mushrooms and berries in the forest behind the hut is not just fun, but ensures delightful moments in pristine nature for the entire family.

Your winter holiday between insider tips and seclusion

Around the hut you are in a top ski touring area!
From January, getting there is already a ski touring experience, because there is a road closure here for the winter time until May. You park your car at the landlord's farm and together you walk comfortably for about 1.5 hours through the Rauris winter landscape. In the meantime, your luggage will be brought to the hut via Skidoo. During the ascent you will learn everything about the most beautiful tours and best routes in the immediate vicinity. Of course, the landlords also have a lot of useful information about safety and culinary recommendations with them.

Embach, only 6 kilometres away, operates a baby lift and a T-bar lift – thus, the first turns on skis can be established. The ski resort of the neighbouring village of Rauris, around 15 kilometres away, is an insider tip and is very popular with the locals. But famous ski resorts like the Gastein Mountain Railways, Ski amadé around the Hochkönig or the glacier ski resort of Kaprun / Zell am See as well as the Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn ski circuit are no more than 40 kilometres away. A network of perfectly groomed cross-country ski tracks and snowshoe hiking tours provides variety and offers the opportunity to experience the region’s beauty at close range.
