General information

A paradise with panoramic view

Arriving here is like coming home. The owner greets you with open arms like an old friend and welcomes you to her new farmhouse with furniture typical for the country. The house with adjacent farm is situated in a secluded location at the Sonnberg and convinces with an unsurpassable panorama: The mountain ranges of the Hohe Tauern rise up majestically and open the view to the “3 Brüder“, the Salzachtal Valley and the Rauris Valley.

The entrance area is shared with the owners. You live on the first and second floor which can be reached via an open staircase. The rooms are mainly modern, new and furnished in Austrian style. Plenty of wood, high-quality carpenter’s work and hand-carved details are the focal aspects here and radiate a pleasant living atmosphere. The two flats can be booked together for groups and families.

The farm animals next door at the farm let children’s hearts beat faster! The products from the owners’ farm are 100 % ORGANIC and are a must for every connoisseur. The homemade cheese of the owners is famous across the valley!

The ski resorts Zell am See - Kaprun (15 min), Rauris (20 min) and Dorfgastein (30 min) are easily reached from Taxenbach in winter. The Kitzsteinhorn with its eternal snow paradise still beckons long after spring has arrived!

Hikers and mountain bikers can start their day on the Sonnberg, the local mountain directly at the front door. Adventurers visit the Kitzloch Gorge in Taxenbach, one of the most beautiful canyons in the Salzburg Alps. Over thousands of years, rain and meltwater have created an impressive spectacle of nature at the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park.

Our tip: The Rauris Primeval Forest in the Kolm head of the valley: The centuries-old natural forest with its more than 80 dark tarns, spruces, Swiss pine trees, lush green mosses and romantic clearings invites visitors in summer. The Rauris Primeval Forest can be explored on snowshoes in winter.
