The region of South Tyrol

South Tyrol is special. The striking Alps and the massive Dolomites cannot counter the panache of south Tyrol and the Italian dolce vita. Between orchards and vineyards, mountain sports lovers find their Mecca here, amongst the limestone giants and the alpine meadows. Alpine tradition meets the Mediterranean way of life in south Tyrol and nowhere is this to be seen more than in the menus and in the people themselves. The friendliness and hospitality of the locals is unforgettable. It can easily be the case here that simply asking for simple directions here leads to a full scale conversation.

The larger part belongs to South Tyrol, but a smaller part is part of the Austrian East Tyrol. Picturesque villages like Bruneck, Welsberg, Toblach, Innichen, Sillian, etc. lie at an altitude of between 700 and 1600 m.
