The holiday region of Steiermark (Styria)

“Fresh, lush, Styrian”: that’s the motto, and explains in short what there is in Styria. Well-known for its high quality production of pumpkin seed oil, apples, and Austrian wine, but also having an equally fascinating countryside and rich soil. The alms (alpine meadows) in the top hiking and skiing regions are typically Styrian. High alpine scenery, countless mountain bike routes, thermal spas and culinary highlights are characteristic of a relaxing holiday in Styria.

The Dachstein-Tauern region is in the north western part of Styria and stretches from Dachstein to Grimming. Well known tourist centres like Schladming, Rohrmoos, and Ramsau am Dachstein, Pichl and the Reiteralm, Haus im Ennstal, the region Grimming, and others are to be found here, between the impressive south faces of the Dachstein and Schladming Tauern mountains.

The Murau-Kreischberg region is situated in the west part of Styria. The Murau district is unusually thinly populated; guests therefore benefit from sustainable tourism in an unspoiled environment. The region is known amongst other things for having the largest proportion of woodland in Austria. St. Ruprecht-Falkendorf is one of the most popular tourist destinations alongside the district town of Murau and Kreischberg – St. Georgen.
