Pongau

Pongau is pretty much right in the middle of the province of Salzburg, surrounded by the limestone mountains in the north and the imposing peaks of the Niedere Tauern mountains in the south; it is known as “Salzburg’s sun terrace”. Pongau lies to the north of Carinthia, in the centre of the Alps, between Pinzgau in the west, Lungau in the south east, and Tennengau in the north.
